Welcome to Owls Head

Owls Head is a small community in Knox County, Maine. It’s located right on the coast, and its peninsula offers quiet, secluded beaches. The town’s easy access to water and tight-knit community makes for a lovely coastal lifestyle.

Owl’s Head was named for its appearance on the map, which is thought to resemble the head of an owl. It’s best known for its beaches, where you can stroll for long stretches without seeing another soul. The area is also home to an impressive number of bird species.

Most homes are single-family cottages/ranches, and some offer sweeping views of the coast. Many homes also sit on large properties with lots of untouched lands.
