The Center for Contemporary Art is a major Rockland attraction. The museum features exhibits of both established and emerging artists and hosts many yearly events. If you’re a fan of American art, be sure to check out the Farnsworth Museum. For over 100 years, the Rockland Breakwater Light has ushered sailors in from the sea. Take a walk and explore the lighthouse. 

After touring the town, stop by one of Rockland’s many eateries. Primo Restaurant is an excellent place for Mediterranean and Italian cuisine, as is Ada’s Kitchen. For some American fare, head to In Good Company. Their wine list is sure to impress!

Rockland offers activities for the entire community all year round. Whether enjoying art or trying the food, there’s something for everyone.

For two days every year, Rockland is home to some of the best blues performers around. The North Atlantic Blues Festival brings musicians and fans alike to enjoy days of music and fun. During the first weekend in August, you can eat lobster, cook seafood, listen to music, and more at the Maine Lobster Festival. Also in August is the Maine Boats, Homes & Harbor Show. Tour the elegant homes and boats of Rockland while listening to music and enjoying an assortment of food.
